「着物でドイツ＆イギリス」Kimono in Germany and UK

Wow.. this was a long Blog break.
I headed kind of last minute to my hometown in Germany for Christmas and New Years.

Ah and… Happy belated New Year to you!
Hope this year brings a lot of happiness and success.

So as I said I went to Northern Germany and also visited London for a couple of days so was quite busy with meeting friends and family and eating way too much. haha.

The town I grew up is called Lüneburg. A small but very beautiful town with many old buildings from hundreds of years ago.

少し急にドイツへ行くことになって、バタバタしてブログを書く時間はなかったよ。

あ、そうだ！明けましておめでとう！（非常に遅くてすまん・・）
今年は素晴らしい一年になりますように。

出身の北ドイツへ行って、クリスマスとお正月を家族と友達と過ごしてきた。生まれのはリューネブルク（Lüneburg）と言う小さい町ですが、昔の建物は綺麗に残っているのでとても素敵なところ。
機会はあればぜひLüneburgへ行ってみてね♡

The town hall with weekly market.　週に二回、市役所の前に市場はあります。

During most of December we have Christmas markets everywhere in Germany. Especially in the dark, the litte houses serving goods and food are very pretty.

The most popular drink is Glühwein aka. mulled wine. It warms you up instantly.

１２月の２４日までは有名なクリスマスマーケットの時間。暗くなってからクリスマスマーケットは得に綺麗だと思う。はぁ〜　寒い中、ホットワインと色々なものを食べたり飲んだりして、手作りの商品も買えるマーケットです。

Because I never wore proper kimono in Europe before, I prepared three outfits and brought them all the way. (Unfortunately the kimono took half of my suitcase already!!)

On Christmas Eve it was quite cold and windy so I chose my self-made wool kimono with Christmas themed colours for the obi and else.

浴衣以外、ちゃんとした着物はヨーロッパで着たことないので、今回は着物コーディネートを三つ決めて持っていた。（スーツケースの半分はこれでいっぱいになちゃった・・ふーん）

クリスマスイーブは寒くて風もピューピューで手作りのウール着物でお出かけ。
帯と小物はクリスマスの色にした。

Several centuries ago Lüneburg had a real harbour to receive and sell wares. This old crane was used to lift heavy things from and onto the boats.

何百年前、ちゃんとした港はあったのよ。船でモノを運んだりしてトレードしたそうです。
後ろに見えると思う不思議な形してる建物はクレーンだよ。これで船のローディングなどしました。

After New Years I tried to arrange a small kimono meet-up in Hamburg, but not many people could join on a weekday (obviously).
However two lovely girls actually came and we had a walk through the city, took some pictures and chatted away about kimono and life while lunch.

年明け、ハンブルク（Hamburg）で着物集まりをしてみたが、平日に時間ある人は少なくて結局三人になった（笑）
寒い日だけど楽しかったです。写真を撮ったり、喋ったり、ご飯も食べた。

Also the Elbphilharmonie – a very modern concert hall just opened its doors in Hamburg while we were there.

新しいコンサートホールはやっとオープン。

I love Hamburgs alternative boroughs so much as well with all the graffiti artworks and independent shops and restaurants. Many graffiti artists actually get commissioned by the city now to spray on old dirty walls. I think it is great!

ハンブルクの代わった町 (Sternschanzeなど）はとても好きです。グラフィティーアートは多く、個人的のお店やレストランはたくさん。昔はパンクは集まったところですが、今どんどんお洒落になってきた町です。オリジナリティーありの所はやっぱり好き。

In Germany we basically ate too much every day – all day, but it was great. My favourite meal of the day is probably breakfast in Germany with all the bread and cheese.

ドイツでほぼ毎日食べ過ぎたけど、楽しかった（笑）
一番好きなのはドイツの朝ごはんだと思います。パンとチーズは天国〜〜

Ah, and here a few more pictures of my Hamburg kimono outfit. An antique striped kimono where I sewed a lace collar on, paired with my favourite python obi from Rumi Rock and original made tabi.

そうだ、ハンブルクの着物コーデをもう少し紹介しよう。
このアンティーク小紋の襟にシミがあって、レースでカバーしたんです。ルミロックの大好きなパイソン柄帯とオリジナル足袋と合わせたコーディネート。

Rather spontaneous we also went to London to meet some friends and see something different.
My last kimono outfit was all set for a sunny day (which we spent indoors though. ehheh) at the Tate Modern art museum.

ロンドンに友達何人もいるので、急にロンドンに行くことも決まって・・　四日間イギリスへ行ってまいりました。
