The wave pattern is called “Seigaiha or 青海波 (meaning the blue ocean wave) “.
The design is said to come from the Persian Empire to Japan in 500s-700s (Asuka period).

This is a Japanese vintage obi belt – to be worn with your kimono.

The obi type is “Nagoya obi” to be worn semi-formal or casual.
Wonderful enji- rusty orange red obi.

No major stains but a vintage feel and a few small spots as seen in closeup.
