☆ Japanese tenugui (cotton towel) – Oiran Sparrow – by Rumi Rock ☆
The work of Kuniyoshi Utagawa shows the world of Oiran world using the picture of sparrows.
Tenugui are traditional Japanese fine cotton towels that have unlimited use such as e.g. for drying one’s hands, tying around the neck to absorb sweat in summer or covering the kimono from spills when eating. Of course these are also great as a decoration or gift.
The design has been traditionally carved with a knife and dyed with chuusen dye sublimation method. A one of a kind item. All hand made. The finish varies for each item.
