☆ Japanese tenugui (cotton towel) – Cat in Oiran Room – by Rumi Rock ☆
The work of Hiroshige Utagawa shows the Edo world with a cat sitting in the Oiran room. You see the tenugui towel in this picture too!
Tenugui are traditional Japanese fine cotton towels that have unlimited use such as e.g. for drying one’s hands, tying around the neck to absorb sweat in summer or covering the kimono from spills when eating. Of course these are also great as a decoration or gift.
The design has been traditionally carved with a knife and dyed with chuusen dye sublimation method. A one of a kind item. All hand made. The finish varies for each item.
