Autumn in Kyoto

Due to business I had the chance to get back to Kyoto earlier than expected. Also an awesome and timely coincidence that my best Tokyo and kimono friend was in Kyoto at the exact same time so one day we could meet and  wear kimono together. My outfit consists of my favourite antique yellow silk komon a blue rather modern Nagoya obi and a vibrant antique haori jacket. The style of my friend features a black komon with pink plum blossoms...

Kimono Rock Tokyo

Last week I went to see several brands at the Kimono Rock Tokyo event. My favourite kimono brands, Modern Antenna, Rumi Rock and Choko were having a joint pop up shop together with iroca and a mens kimono designer I forgot the name of. (Pardon me!) SHU UEMURA x MAISON KITSUNÉ launch party Tokyo

Last Friday I went to the SHU UEMURA x MAISON KITSUNÉ launch party at Idol Tokyo. Everyone was celebrating the makeup collaboration of those two amazing brands. Starting off with beautiful renaissance like goth dresses h.NAOTO tapped right into what one would expect. I was actually more surprised to see many ready to be worn simple print shirts and simple coats to be presented. This SS16 has Naoto experimenting with print graphics (the tights were just wonderful!) and military style. Also he put more detail on accessories...

Fashion Week Tokyo SS16 – Yuma Koshino & Onitsuka Tiger x Andrea Pompilio

Next up at the Tokyo Fashion Week for me were the shows of Yuma Koshino and Onitsuka Tiger x Andrea Pompilio. YUMA KOSHINO Last fashion week I was also invited to see her collection - so it was great to see the this seasons designs as well. Yuma Koshino impressed as always with fine details, great cuts and exquisite fabrics. Although this was the Spring/Summer 2016 collection, I was surprised by the rather dark color palette and fabrics of the first third...
